Just had to post about this;  Robert Crumb famed cartoonist/artist just released 2 new limited art prints and a statue.  He couldn't hid in Europe forever (well I guess he can...)  Check out pics of the 2 prints and statue below, and click the link for more details.  These are definitely NOT CHEAP, 150 euros for the prints, and 245 euros for the statue, but for a guy who almost never produces commercial work in mass these days, to get a signed numbered quality print, its worth it.  Oh and if you buy the statue you get an even more limited edition print!

Soul Kitchen and Art Show, Sneak Peak

Prints for art show delivered today, felt like Hannukah.  Shows Thursday at

6039 Industry Jazz Cafe
Washington Blvd, Culver City

Starts around 7:30pm, goes til sometime around 11pm

See a poorly taken picture of one of the prints...a lil teaser for ya.  Should be a good time, come early for some good Ethopian food or on special that night Philly cheese steaks (or something presenting itself as such)

Truly masterful visual representation of Jazz music.

Created by Michel Gagne in 2010, Sensology visualizes a duo between, Pianist Paul Plimley and Bassist Barry Guy, 2 great jazz musicians. Gagne is well known throughout animation circles for his involvement in tons of great movies over the years including one of my favorites, The Iron Giant.

Watch and enjoy, and check out the links below for more info on the short film and Gagne

Pop Artist pioneer, Richard Hamilton died today at the age of 89.  I remember briefly studying his collage work in college.  He also designed the Beatles cover and Poster for The White Album in 1968.  Although not one of biggest international names in art, his influence will continue to live on... see one of his most famous works below and click the link to read more about him.
